Oh, L’Amour

It’s only November, but it began snowing here today – just a light, silent little dusting. I live along a river and the snow speckles in the dusky morning light was absolutely beautiful. I love this time of year – cold but not wretched, fresh, the warm glow of fireplaces, the anticipation of the holidays.

The Lover by The Gap, for whatever reason, reminds me of this time of year. It’s warm and cozy, but it’s got a heady sexiness that hearkens the excitement. It’s not a party-all-night-in-a-tiny-dress excitement, but more of a¬†preparing yourself to spoil your beloved: a deep tub, candles, twilight beyond the windows, anticipation of a night together to reconnect.
