Paris, Paris

Today brings luncheon with the president at my job (which, for now, will remain anonymous.) It’s a very conservative institution so I have to be sure to dress the part, but vanity still prevails. A fitted black pencil skirt, silky black blouse, and a copper-pink velvet blazer fit the bill, primarily because the pink-black color combination represent Balenciaga’s Paris to me.

Paris is sophisticated, powerful, and very feminine. Violets and rose petals envelope dashes of powdery spice and woodsy green. If it looked like a snapshot, it would be an elegant woman window shopping in a bustling metropolis. It sounds like Catherine Deneuve’s “Paris, Paris”: silky, dreamy, and just a touch wistful.
